RACINE, WI (Jan. 29, 2026) — The National Association of Sports Officials (NASO) has entered into a new strategic partnership with Battlefields to Ballfields (B2B) to support veterans who are exploring sports officiating as a way to stay connected, serve their communities, and build a meaningful post-military pathway.
Battlefields to Ballfields is a national nonprofit dedicated to helping military veterans transition into officiating through mentorship, support, and recognition. NASO’s involvement reflects a shared belief that officiating can be a powerful outlet for leadership, structure, and service — qualities veterans bring in abundance.
“This partnership is about alignment,” said NASO leadership. “B2B has a strong mission and deep credibility with veterans. NASO brings relationships, communication channels, and experience connecting officials at every level. Together, we believe we can amplify the impact of work that is already changing lives.”
The partnership will begin with a limited trial phase, allowing both organizations to learn, listen, and refine how best to support veterans and officiating organizations. Insights from that phase will inform future expansion and broader engagement across the officiating community.
B2B Founder and Chairman Mike Pereira welcomed the collaboration.
“We’re looking forward to working closely with NASO,” Pereira said. “I truly believe we can make a meaningful difference in a lot of lives through this work.”
As part of the partnership, NASO will help elevate awareness of officiating opportunities among veterans, encourage state and local officiating organizations to recruit veterans, and support storytelling and recognition efforts that honor veterans who continue to serve through sport.
Additional details about future initiatives will be shared as the partnership evolves.
