A Tour of Cleveland (optional activity)
Explore this Great Lakes city on America's North Coast and discover one of the nation's best-kept secrets! We start with architectural wonders such as the historic Old Arcade (now a beautiful Hyatt Hotel), Federal Reserve Bank, County Courthouse, Tower City complex, Public Square - among many. Your scenic tour acquaints you with the newest additions to our Cleveland waterfront, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Great Lakes Science Center and the Cleveland Browns Stadium. Of course we include Gateway, the state of the art sports complex - home to Progressive Field and Quicken Loans Arena.
Then we travel along Lakes Erie's picturesque shoreline to University Circle, the nation's largest concentration of cultural, educational and medical facilities. See the world-renowned Cleveland Museum of Art (currently undergoing an exciting renovation), the Western Reserve Historical Society-Crawford Auto/Aviation Complex, Severance Hall (winter home of the Cleveland Orchestra), the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, the Garden Center of Greater Cleveland oldest civic garden center in America, and the new Gehry Building part of Case Western Reserve. Visit the monument honoring President James A. Garfield in historic LakeView Cemetery, and be sure to bring your camera to capture the spectacular views of the North Coast. Here, also, is the Wade Memorial Chapel with its breathtaking Tiffany window and mosaic tiles.
We will visit historic Tremont, a dynamic neighborhood with a fascinating past and an exciting future. Tremont has been called “A small town in the heart of the city,” and it’s easy to see why. High on a bluff overlooking the bend in the Cuyahoga River, Tremont boasts some of the best views of Cleveland. With its rich blend of tradition and trend, Tremont is a slice of the Old World and the new.
One of Cleveland's oldest neighborhoods, and perhaps its most ethnically diverse is Ohio City, a culturally rich community located just across the Cuyahoga River from downtown Cleveland. Originally home to Irish and German immigrants, Ohio City today is home to more than 15 ethnic groups representing over 10,000 people.
There will be stops along the way allowing you to “get up close and personal”. Throughout the tour you will be amazed and amused with tales of Cleveland's proud past, present glory and bright future. Sign up through registration under Optional Activities.

Gold Whistle Award Celebration*
Join us as we celebrate officiating’s highest honor — the NASO Gold Whistle Award — during an elegant evening banquet. NASO is privileged to have recognized the efforts of outstanding officials with both the Gold Whistle Award and the Mel Narol Medallion. No other event in our history pays tribute to officiating quite like the Gold Whistle Award Celebration.
The NASO Gold Whistle Award, given to an individual or organization that has made significant contributions to the betterment of sports officials and the officiating industry. This year’s honoree will be the 21st honoree to receive the award, joining an elite group of past winners.
NASO’s Mel Narol Medallion Award also recognizes outstanding contributions to the officiating community as well as NASO. The award winner will be the seventh such honoree and join other organizations or individuals as past recipients.
This celebration is not to be missed. You’ll receive enormous satisfaction and overwhelming pride in knowing you are part of the officiating community — while at the same time helping to recognize officiating’s highest honor.
