BASEBALL — The wife of Connors State College’s head baseball coach was charged with two counts of assault and battery on an athletic official in connection to a May 9, 2009, attack on umpires during the National Junior College Division II baseball tournament.

Sheri Lee Keith, 45, of Warner, Okla., who is married to Connors State Coach Perry Keith, allegedly entered the umpires’ locker room following a close game in which Eastern Oklahoma State College defeated Connors State, 9-8. According to a detective affidavit, “Ms. Keith barged into the umpires’ locker room while the umpires were changing clothes. She began yelling at the umpires stating, ‘You (expletive) suck, you (expletive) us.’”

Sheri Keith reportedly threw punches at umpire Michael Lentz. When umpires John Williams and Loren Williams intervened, she allegedly grabbed John Williams by the throat and scratched him.
