Jim Arehart challenged
the conference attendees to answer the following questions:
"Which wants are most important and why? How can
we convince institutions that our wants are important and
need to be addressed?"
A long open comment
session followed as those in attendance presented ideas that
worked for their groups in their areas. Many officials urged
open communication with athletic directors, coaches, parents
and perhaps even the public at large, as a good method of
"opening a door" that will help to keep future situations
controllable.
