Annual Summits Focus on Sports Officiating Excellence

Excellence in sports officiating is the focus of the annual Sports Officiating Summit of the National Association of Sports Officials (NASO), held at different locations each year, from the last Sunday in July until Tuesday of that week. The 2012 summit will be July 29-31. Read details of the upcoming summit on the pages in the menu on  the left side of this page.

The Sports Officiating Summit is the only event of its kind addressing critical topics impacting all aspects of the officiating industry. Leading sports officials and others with extensive experience in the world of officiating give presentations at the summit and lead discussions as summit sessions.

Leaders of state high school officiating programs, local association officers, supervisors and coordinators, assigners, conference administrators and sports officials at all levels – from around the country and the world — benefit from The Sports Officiating Summits. Each year, more than 300 people attend the summit.

Attendee Resource Materials

All registered attendees receive the Resource Manual for participating in The Sports Officiating Summit. This manual includes all of the content covered in the educational sessions with additional support materials, supplemental information from industry vendors and much more.

After the summit, attendees will receive a summit publication via mail during the fourth quarter of the year. This book will recap the highlights and most pressing issues covered duringf the summit, complete with supporting documentation.

Awards

Along with the educational and inspiring presentations, sports officiatings two big awards are presented at the summit -- The Gold Whistle Award and the Mel Narol Medallion Award.
