NBA’s Spurs to Host Sports Officials Appreciation Night

The San Antonio Spurs today announced that the team will host a "Sports Officials Appreciation Night" on Tuesday, April 10. The Spurs will host the Dallas Mavericks at the San Antonio Alamodome at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available from the San Antonio Spurs office for only $14.50 each.

Prior to the game’s tip-off, former NASO chair and NBA Director of Officials Ed Rush will conduct a private training session with local sports officials in attendance. His one-hour program will include discussion on ways to improve communication, develop personal officiating skills and much more. Sure to be a highlight of the evening will be Rush’s presentation demonstrating the use of today’s computer technology to improve training and communication among his staff. He will also participate in a question and answer period.

Those in attendance will be eligible to receive numerous door prizes provided by Referee magazine and NASO. All in attendance at the game will have an opportunity to win a Tim Duncan bobblehead doll.

"Ed Rush has become one of the most innovative officiating trainers in the business," said NASO President Barry Mano. "Ed’s passion for getting it right both on the court and off makes him truly remarkable. NASO and Referee are proud to be part of this educational experience."
